Elvis Photos by Andrews Newton
Ottawa, April 3, 1957—Part 1
These Elvis photos are part one of a tribute to Andrews Newton, who was the official photographer when Presley's stage show came to Ottawa on April 3, 1957. At the time, Newton was the proprietor of Newton Photographic Associates, located at 326 Wilbrod Street in Ottawa. He was on scene with his camera at 8 a.m. that Monday, when Elvis arrived at the Ottawa train station. At 3:30 that afternoon, Newton continued taking pictures at Elvis's press conference in the Ottawa Auditorium. Later, he added many shots of Elvis performing on stage. All of the images below come from the afternoon press conference. Go back to the Elvis Photos Contents page to view three more sets of photos by Andrews Newton.
